Georgians for the Arts Week

Georgians for the Arts Week 2017 coincides with the Americans for the Arts (AFTA) Arts Advocacy Day 2017 (National Arts Action Summit) scheduled for March 20-21. Georgians for the Arts


Advocacy in support of the National Endowment for the Arts has top priority. Help advocate to prevent the elimination of the NEA, our national arts agency and the loss of annual arts funding in the amount of $158 Million Dollars. Saving the NEA will preserve the NEA Partner grant to our own Georgia Council for the Arts in the amount of $660 Thousand Dollars.


YOU as Georgians for the Arts can advocate with specific actions during March:

Mar 1-31 Display your Georgians for the Arts buttons and stickers
Hold local events in support of the Arts in your community
Mar 19-20 Sign the AFTA Petition to protect and save the NEA
Mar 21-22 Join AFTA’s Arts Action Fund (it’s free)
Mar 23-24 Make phone calls and send post cards (Information below)
Mar 24-25 Plan voter registration projects and REGISTER VOTERS
