Resources for Georgia’s Community Arts Agencies

To strengthen and foster community arts organizations in Georgia, ArtsGeorgia is developing this resource section of the website for the purpose of providing valuable resources to the field. The intent is to provide a diverse selection of templates, model documents and forms related to the governance and administration of community arts agencies, resources for operations and programing, and then to build an extensive library of additional resources and links to support best practices, policy, capacity building, sustainability and community development. If you are a community arts agency and do not find what you need, please contact us for additional help.

One of the basic resources for community arts agencies is how to start one. The following link is to the publication Arts Council Development Handbook developed by the Georgia Council for the Arts and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits.

Adopting Governance Standards and Best Practices

One of the best resources for a community arts agency or any arts nonprofit to know about and to adopt for their operating principles are the standards developed by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits in the publication Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for Non Profits.
