March 11-17, 2018 coincides with the Americans for the Arts (AFTA) Arts Advocacy Day 2018 (National Arts Action Summit) scheduled for March 12-13.

PURPOSE Advocacy in support of the Georgia Council for the Arts is the top priority. Help advocate to restore annual state arts funding back to pre-recession levels of $5 Million Dollars. Restoring the arts funding will preserve and revive local arts councils, local arts organizations and fund new arts education programs.

DATE ACTIVITY YOU as Georgians for the Arts can advocate with specific actions during March:
Mar 1-31 Display your Georgians for the Arts buttons and stickers
Hold local events in support of the Arts in your community
Mar 11-12 Sign our Petition in support of increased state arts funding
Mar 13-14 Join AFTA’s Arts Action Fund (it’s free)
Join ArtsGeorgia
Mar 15-17 Make phone calls and send post cards (Information below)
Mar 17-31 Plan voter registration projects and REGISTER VOTERS
