The budget is being drafted now. Waiting until next year hasn’t worked. Restore state support for the Arts – The Time Is Now! Will you write the Governor; meet with your local representative to help insure an increase in the state arts budget? Thank you!

Budget Proposal Summary:

1. Increase the annual state arts budget for more grants and to support arts education from $586,000.00 to $1,500,00.00.

2. Include separate funding for a Community Arts Partners program to support the arts in all 159 Georgia counties in the amount of $1,000,000.00.

Join ArtsGeorgia’s advocacy initiative to persuade our elected officials the Georgia arts community is doing its part. After 5 years of the 90% cut in state arts funding the time is now for the Governor and our state legislators to restore arts funding so our artists, arts educators, arts organizations and state arts council can do their work. In 2015, let’s celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Georgia Council for the Arts honoring their achievements and Georgia’s rich tradition of arts and culture.
