Breaking News: Georgia Council for the Arts – FY2015 Budget

Georgia Office of Planning and BugdetState arts funding continues with existing 90% cut to GCA budget.

Budget increased for retirement funds & staff salary adjustments. Georgia is anticipated to remain in last place ranked 50th for per capita arts funding in the U.S., 56th incl D.C. and territories. http://opb.georgia.gov/

Georgia Council for the Arts
Purpose: The purpose of this appropriation is to provide for Council operations, fund grants & services for non-profit arts and cultural organizations, and maintain the Georgia State Art Collection and Capitol Galleries.

Recommended Change:
1. Increase funds to reflect an adjustment in the employer share of the Employees’ Retirement System. $7,638.00
2. Provide funds for merit-based pay adjustments and employee recruitment and retention initiatives effective July 1, 2014.
$2,609.00
